My So-Called Green Life

I am one of those people who likes to see if I can ‘do it myself’! I am a huge DIY-er! I figure that if a machine can do it, so can I. I realize that makes no sense, but in my little world, it makes perfect sense! In the blog posts and articles below you will find where I have stepped out of my world of convenience and done the impossible. I’ve made my own dish soap, laundry detergent, all purpose cleaner, fabric softener, baby lotion, baby wipes, facial toner, shampoo, cleanser, lotion, scrubs and more! I created my very own compost station in the back yard, which is added to daily since we eat such fresh food! I’ve built furniture out of pallets and made curtain tie backs with simple bath hooks and rocks found in my back yard. I hang my daughter’s beautiful, sheer curtains by hand made bamboo and jute curtain rods! My children play with hand made play dough, finger paints and bath bubbles! The list goes on and on! I hope these can get your brain wheels turning and gets you to thinking that you can do anything a machine inside a factory can do. Not only will you save money, but you’ll be lessening the toxic overload to our bodies, our homes, our air, our ground, our water and the earth! Those aren’t bad side effects for doing things the old fashioned way! I guess our grandparents didn’t live so bad after all!
