Who Am I ?
WHO AM I ?
I am a Mom to 2 amazing kids and 1 pot-bellied pig and a wife to the most wonderful man, my best friend, who I married in 2000 (you can scroll down to read more about my family)! I am a Colorado native who cherishes her family, God, making memories and life itself. I LOVE to laugh, smile, and learn and you will never find me being bored. I’m eclectic in my interests which range from organizing, baking, decorating, natural/organic living, parenting, crafting, reading, designing, animals and more. I am a certified Health and Nutrition Coach with certifications in Wellness as well as a Personal Fitness Chef and my Personal Nutrition Coach certification is almost completed. In the future I am seriously considering becoming a certified Labor and Birthing Coach aka a Birthing Doula. The foundation of my life and family is Jesus and His Word and my desire is to carry out His call on my life which includes ENJOYING every minute and living life to it’s fullest. I love sharing tiny glimpses from my life that will make you laugh, cry, think and hopefully come back for more. I strive to find JOY in everyday life and I am celebrating this journey that I am on!
I have recently started my own business named Living Strong Health and Wellness! This is all a part of the plan in going forth with my passion to reach people and educate people on living in divine health all the days of their lives. I offer personal one on one coaching sessions, I teach classes, I make natural skin care products and there is more to come. In the future I plan on hosting online classes where you can attend no matter where you live, as long as you have internet access. I am also in the very beginning stages of a book. Whether it will be an e-book, print or both, I am not sure, but it’s in the works and that’s what I’m concentrating on at this time. Please feel free to visit my business website for more information on my services, my views on health and food and so much more! Living Strong Health and Wellness Website
(AND A LITTLE EXTRA INFO)
In 2008 I started blogging to eliminate sending mass emails to everyone when I wanted to update them on the family. Since only about 2 people were reading my blog – me and my mom – I also just started using it as a journal for my thoughts. I’ve always kept a written journal, but after having my first child, that seemed to drift by the wayside. I realized how much I missed writing my thoughts down – and believe me, I have many thoughts on any given day! Over the course of the past couple years my style of blogging has changed and I have found a special place for me to go and just write – whatever it may be. I have formed many wonderful relationships with other bloggers – and I am so glad to have found them. I call them my ‘pen pals’. It’s a far cry from the pen pals my grandmother or even mother might have had – but the concept hasn’t changed.
In this blog, living.on.purpose, there will be a mixture of my personal life and business life. My beliefs in regards to health are lived out daily in my home. This offers a great opportunity for blogging by giving people a glimpse inside the life of a Health Coach and how I apply the principlas that I teach others, to my life and the life of my family.
I enjoy the freedom of blogging and that it is a place where I can be myself. I do not have to worry if anyone likes me or agrees with what I say. In fact, I’ll be up front and tell you right off hand, this is not a debate forum. I don’t mind questions or sincere comments about what I have written, but if you want to debate or demean me or my beliefs in anyway – just keep on going because I most likely will not respond those types of comments! My time is too precious to waste it on defending myself to others. That being said, I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends! Thank you so much for visiting my world! I invite you to come in, catch up and stay a while!

This is my Family. This is my Life. These are my Loves.

HUBBY
First we have Hubby! Hubby and I met in 1995 and were married in 2000. Though, in 1995, we were two people that were least likely to get married and have a family together, but when God entered the picture and changed those two said people, the course of our lives changed. Hubby is my absolute best friend. I like to think that we have a very unique relationship. We are a strong team. We have a wonderful friendship– which makes life a whole lot easier when sometimes we might feel like each other’s enemy. We push each other to be better people and we encourage each other in our daily lives. The vision for our future is wonderful, because we see each other in the future. We have made big plans and everyday we pursue those goals and dreams. Hubby – he’s the love of my life!

OUR BEAUTY, BELLA JOY
Next we have my daughter, Bella! She is our first child and my most precious girlfriend in the world. She was born in 2005 and she gave us a run for our money! She started moving in the womb and hasn’t stopped moving since. She was the reason we almost didn’t have baby #2, but I am happy to say that she is a completely different person today – at age 6. She has a strong personality, she is very smart and she is very opinionated. In a nut shell, she is a very spirited young girl! Not always the easiest attributes in a young person, but I love her through and through and wouldn’t trade her or her uniqueness for anything in the world. She has an amazing imagination and complete child-like faith. She reminds me everyday about love, faith and trust. I’m excited to watch her grow into a beautiful, godly woman!

OUR BUBBA, SCOUT WESTON
Next is our son, Scout. He was born on Valentine’s Day 2009. He is a very laid back little guy – although he loves to be moving as much as his sister. Not much sitting still in this house. He discovered recently that he thoroughly enjoys being outside in the warm weather playing to his hearts content. He is my ‘saran wrap’ and is constantly glued to my hip, leg or whatever body part is available to be hanging onto. Because of my different approach with my pregnancy with Scout, I have found something in life I would completely enjoy doing and that is being a Labor/Birthing Coach (aka Doula). This experience also opened my eyes to the importance of nutrition and proper health to conceive, have a healthy pregnancy and bring into this world a healthy baby. I used a birthing center for his birth and my care was done by midwives throughout my pregnancy. This experience, along with much research, has forever changed the way I view pregnancy and birth for women and families. The birth of Scout has changed my life in so many ways. He is an amazing little boy, I have so much fun watching him grow, learn and talk and I am looking forward to having a mama’s boy grow up in our house!

OUR PIG, MISS PIGGY aka ‘MISSY’
Missy was my ‘first’ child. I got her in May of 1993 when I had just turned 18 years old – she was 9 months old. We ‘rescued’ her from a family that could not take care of a pot-bellied pig appropriately. She was living in a home of two people in the medical field that were gone up to 17 hours a day. Missy, originally named Valenswine, was locked in a small bathroom day in and day out. After many months of this and the behavior from Valenswine that resulted in her ‘bathroom bondage’, they realized owning a pot-bellied pig was not for them. My parents got me Missy for my 18th birthday and welcomed her into their home with open arms. She finally had a yard to graze in, a house to roam around in and a family that loved and blessed her – far above any other pot-bellied pig! Missy is now 19 years old and is still very loved and blessed – having her own house in the backyard complete with windows and a space heater for cooler nights. Even though she has this plush piggy house, she spends most her time inside with us in her little ‘pig pen’, laying under all her blankets and soaking up the heat from her heat lamp.

OUR PUG, JERRY BEAN
Here is my second baby, Jerry Bean. I got him in September of 1998 when he was 11 weeks old. I originally bought him for my dad (wink wink) while my parents were out of town, but somehow the little guy and I bonded before my parents returned home. He’s been mine ever since. He thinks he is part human and likes to go EVERYWHERE with us. He has his spot in the car and loves going for rides. He has about 5 beds in our house so he is comfortable in whatever room he may be in – and he has is basket full of stuffed animals that he digs in daily to find just the right thing to hold in his mouth while he sleeps. He has also managed to remain sleeping on the bed with me at night, even though when we got married I told Hubby that I would make him sleep on the floor. Yep. That never happened. He is a very blessed pug who is loved more than words could express. He’s definitely a mama’s boy and doesn’t like to be away from me for long periods of time!
UPDATE ON JERRY BEAN
On May 14, 2010, my precious puppy passed away in my arms. It was one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever gone through. I still consider him a part of my family and will always include him when talking about my life. He was exactly 2 months shy of turning 12 years old. He was my buddy for almost 12 years and I cherish every second we were blessed with him on this earth! Mama loves you, Bean!

I liked the old blog and I know that I will like the new blog. I have missed your blog and am so glad that you are back. I am your #1 fan and devoted follower. Love ya!
P.S. Your update on Bean made me cry of course. Those 3 pugs, always in my heart and a lifetime of love yet to give to them!!
