A Little Chuckle
I hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was busy, but fun! Friday Hubby had the day off, so we went down to Castle Rock and had lunch with Scout (Bella was in school, so she couldn’t join us). We walked around the factory outlet stores and I drooled and snapped candid shots of kitchen appliances I want to add to my collection at one of the many kitchen stores.
Later that afternoon my sister called and asked if we wanted to go to the Colorado Rockies Baseball Game. Although panic hit for about 7 seconds imagining what that would be like with the kids – I knew we could handle it – so we accepted the free tickets! We had awesome seats, nobody in front of us and with plenty of snacks, food and hot chocolate, the kids managed to do good. Of course I brought home made trail mix with soaked and dehydrated nuts along with my reverse osmosis water with lemon in it. Yuppie, I know. I did have some peanuts and we got the kids some popcorn and I had a few bites, but it can’t hold up to my popcorn, so we ended up with the whole bag left over. Hubby, on the other hand, enjoys outings where he isn’t forced by me to eat real and healthy food. The guy gets lectured even if I see him looking at something that is man-made, processed or plain ole crap. That night he came back and was holding the grossest looking bowl of nachos. At least, I’m assuming they were nachos. He offered me a bite, but when I shot him a look of disgust, he laughed and enjoyed the rest by himself.
We did depart after the 7th inning stretch because Scout was getting tired. For most, that means little toddler crawls in your lap and falls asleep. Not in my world. When Scout is tired, Scout gets wired. Hence, leaving the game!
Oh, well.
Anyway, I didn’t spend much time online, because I wanted to spend time with the kids and get some things done around the house. I also start sessions with a new client tomorrow, so I’ve been busy preparing for that!
This week I’ll be posting some recipes (think copy-cat Almond Joy drops), discussing simplicity and giving you a piece of my mind about the documentary Food, Inc. Aren’t you excited?
I’ll leave you today with a couple comic strips that are cute. They gave me a little chuckle, so I thought you might enjoy them too!
(This is pretty much truth, which makes it sad. This gave me a chuckle, but more of a “I can’t believe how true this is” chuckle.)
Enjoy your day!
